Testimonials
Jessica is a phenomenal teacher, both for yoga and for the work she does in nutrition. She has an ability to cut right through the everyday chatter and the more superficial problems--the ones people originally think they need to focus on--and shift the focus to the underlying root issues. This is true both in her yoga classes and in her nutritional work, and is an amazing talent. Her classes and sessions never fail to shift my perspective and make me feel more hopeful and focused.
Jessica is such an inspirational guru, and I'm so thankful that I've had opportunities to be in her Jivamukti classes and several of her workshops! I always feel like she says exactly what I need to hear that day. She is so knowledgable, and has a gift of making whatever she is teaching accessible and relevant. I enjoy the balance of her classes - asana, meditation, chanting, and discussion about a particular limb of yoga. I always look forward to Jessica's classes, and take so much away from them.
My work with Jessica was truly transformational. Through her gentle and loving guidance I embarked on the road to enlightenment and knowledge about how every part of my life affects the rest. I have made some profound changes and my life is more peaceful and more fulfilling emotionally, physically and spiritually.
At the root of everything Jessica teaches is capital-T Truth, the type of eternal sentiment that resonates deep within you but which is difficult to verbalize. When Jessica speaks, she nails it on the head. She is eloquent and extremely knowledgeable regarding all things yoga--the sutras, chants, physical postures--and nutrition--the energetics of food, whole nourishment, cravings, etc.. While being firmly connected to ancient and timeless teachings, Jessica is also grounded in the modern day and accessible to talk to about anything here or there. I have learned extensively from Jessica on and off the mat, and her passion, not just for yoga and teaching but for life, inspires me enormously. Her fire is bright!
Jessica Patterson is one of the most powerful, yet gentle people I have ever met. She is wise beyond her years and insights flow through her like water. Her passion, her perception and the way in which she shares information about individuals' journeys is unique and spot-on. Anyone would benefit from a session (or a lifetime of them), whether it's through Jessica's yoga instruction, health counseling or her retreats.
I first started attending Jess’ free class in Manitou Springs on the weekends a couple of years ago. I’ve gone on three of her retreats (amazing!) and have experienced the chakra healing workshops as well. I’ve found her classes (and ESPECIALLY her retreats and seminars) to be incredibly insightful and rewarding. She is very generous in her teaching and always talks about what is “available” to one at any given practice: available in terms of postures, stretching and emotional availability as well . She does a great job of meeting each student at their individual level and stretching them gently past their preconceived boundaries…both physical and emotional. Jessica’s classes are not just physical (although they can be a great workout) they are spiritual and emotional as well. I often leave class in tears but exhilarated….
Jessica is a tremendous teacher. Every class I've taken from her has been a blessing. I am always challenged and invigorated mentally, physically, emtionally, and spiritually. I always feel that she puts a great deal of thought and preparation in for every class. From her positive attitude, her diverse knowledge, her insight, her good use of language for asana prompts, her calm and confident voice, her excellent choices in music... her classes are wonderful.
Jessica leads a transformative practice using thought provoking yet restorative words to create a meditative state in a flow type asana practice. Her humorous phrases add wit and charm thus provoking a gentle smile in some of the most rigorous poses.
Jessica has been essential to bringing me into yoga and helping me strengthen my body, mind and spirit through its practice. Whatever your level of experience or physical ability, she will offer you a physical practice that is rigorous and challenging, but also inviting and not intimidating. Through that practice, she opens doors to allow each of us to explore our inner selves and our relationships to the world around us and find our way to inner peace and joy as well. I have found her retreats and workshops to be truly transformative, and have found the company of amazing men and women who can support each other in a sacred and safe space. Jessica seems to bring out in each of us that which is honest and kind and willing to grow into our best selves, physically and spiritually, and I am grateful for her teachings.
