In this workshop, our goal will be to free our divine, creative energy so that we can purify creative and sexual relationships and let go of the anger, blame, resentment, and fear that keep us in a reactive state.....that keep us from creating the lives we really want to stand in. If we wish to discover greater intimacy in our lives, we must find a state of receptivity to the divine muse, the goddess energy that inspires all life. When we co-create with the divine, in alignment with our true nature, anything is possible. This is the lesson of the goddess within us all.
Trust the dreams for hidden in them is the gate to eternity.
Kahlil Gibran
The second chakra, Swadhistana (Sanskrit for "her favorite standing place") governs our hips and pelvic region. This is where the goddess stands - where the creative force is firmly rooted and established. It is the wellspring of our emotions, creative potential, sensuality, and sexuality as well as the source of apana vayu, which governs elimination (including negativity) and reproduction. Music, art, taste and free, we awaken the artist within, creating the life we want and connecting authentically with others. Yet too often the hips are stiff, sore, tight and unyielding. And when the hips feel stuck, our creative, sensual, emotional, and intimate energy may also be stuck. These imbalances manifest in a myriad of issues, from low back and hip pain to creative and sexual blocks, reactivity, and issues in our relationships with others and ourselves. Our ability to really connect - intimacy in its purest form - depends largely on our receptivity to the creative force of life. In other words, in order to create and connect, we must be willing to open up and let go. But many of us encounter "blocks" that manifest as tension, inflexibility, and gripping in the body, mind and beyond. These discomforts often reflect past hurts, fear, paralysis, and reactivity. We feel stuck, shameful or guarded.
Due to the intense nature of forward folds and hip-openers, please arrive with an empty stomach (at least 1.5 hours after eating) so you can reap the full benefits of the physical practice.
Remember to bring: yoga mat, blocks/strap (we have these at PYC), pillow/cushion to sit upon, journal/pen or pencil, and a flower or object for the altar that reminds you of your creative bloom. Finally, please bring a favorite fruit.
Workshop is hosted by Pranava Yoga Center that is situated in Colorado Springs, CO
