This will be an encore of the first TreeTribe Session in the beautiful setting of Vidya Retreat Center (www.vidyaretreats.com) in Monument/Larkspur area (approx 30 minutes from Colorado Springs).
The second chakra, Swadhisthana (Sanskrit for "her favorite standing place") governs our sexual and creative relationships. This is where the goddess stands--where the creative force of divinity is firmly rooted and established. Our ability to really connect--intimacy in its purest form--depends on our receptivity to the creative force of life. But many of us encounter "blocks" that manifest as tension, inflexibility, and gripping in the body. These discomforts often reflect past hurts, fear, paralysis, and reactivity. We feel stuck, shameful, or guarded.
Our goal is to free our divine, creative energy so that we can purify creative and sexual relationships and let go of the anger, blame, resentment, and fear that keeps us in a reactive state....that keep us from creating the lives we really want to stand in. If we wish to discover greater intimacy in our lives, we must find a state of receptivity to the divine muse, the goddess energy that inspires all life. When we co-create with the divine, in alignment with our true nature, anything is possible. This is the lesson of the goddess within us all.
In this workshop, we will explore and free our creative energy through asana, chanting/song, meditation, creative writing, visualization, sense and scent exercises, and more. Our asana intensive will focus on hip-openers and forward folds, which give us opportunities to ignite the creative center and make peace with our past. We will explore, reflect, and heal by letting go of stagnant feelings we may be holding around our sexual and creative relationships.
Stella Terrill Mann wrote, "Every time we say, 'Let there be!' in any form, something happens." Yet so many of us spend our time and energy focusing on what we fear. Join us for this powerful journey into the spirit of the goddess, and free yourself to create a life of true intimacy. Stand as the goddess, rooted in your infinite potential. Wow, indeed!
Come with an empty stomach (at least 1.5 hours after eating) so you can reap the full benefits of the physical practice. We will have fruit to snack on and a potluck lunch.
Bring: yoga mat, blocks/strap, cushion to sit upon, journal/pen or pencil, an object that reminds you of your creative self. I ask that you reflect on the following prior to our time together: What do I want to manifest in my life? What is holding me back? How do I feel about my sexual energy? Am I living in aligmnent with my dreams?
Please bring a vegan (no animal products) dish to share for the potluck. If you have any questions about what to bring, feel free to contact me.
